The Brake Man, an innovative designer and manufacturer of made-in-America motorsport brake systems and components, introduces Talon-D brake systems specifically designed for dirt late model racing. The high performance, ultra-durable Talon-D brake system, which has already visited the winner’s circle in 2012 on cars piloted by leading drivers including Jonathan Davenport, Jared Landers, and Steve Francis, is now available to dirt late model racers everywhere.
“If a customer tells me to put brakes on a car like I was building it for myself then I use brakes by The Brake Man,” reveals legendary chassis builder Barry Wright who has over 35 years of experience creating winning race cars. “It’s all about zero drag and these Talon-D brake systems release themselves real quick.”
Talon-D braking systems come complete with 4 brake calipers, 4 brake rotors, 8 brake pads, and 2 residual pressure valves. “Each component features supreme engineering and unbeatable performance for dirt late model racing in a system that delivers money-saving durability for race teams,” points out Warren Gilliland, Founder, President and Chief Engineer of The Brake Man. “These are designed and built to last multiple seasons, not just races, while delivering zero-drag that frees up the car, especially in the turns.”
Four F4 Tornado™ calipers by The Brake Man, the industry’s original zero-drag calipers, are included in Talon-D braking systems. They are made from high-strength, high-temperature true billet forged aluminum with a hardened steel center section then hard-coated for corrosion resistance. This 4-piston caliper’s patented design delivers the lowest flex of any caliper, to eliminate pad taper and wedging. Modular construction simplifies impact repair while dual transfer tubes improve internal fluid circulation and bleeding.
Talon-D braking systems come standard with ProCast rotors featuring high-quality castings subjected to The Brake Man’s proprietary Dynamogenic™ thermal treatment for longer life and resistance to cracking and warpage. An upgrade to the Talon-DR brake system swaps in four of The Brake Man’s ultra-weight saving Revolution convoluted rotors. Designed to maximize strength while minimizing material weight, Revolution rotors are the most effective lightweight rotor on the market today and virtually impervious to warpage.
Eight of The Brake Man’s Compound #84 brake pads are also included with Talon-D braking systems. These extended life performance brake pads are designed for early tip-in on dirt and clay tracks where quick bite is desired. The Brake Man offers a wide range of brake pad compounds tailored to specific driving and track environments which can also be packaged as part of these brake systems.
Talon-D brake systems for dirt late model racing are available now through race performance aftermarket dealers and retailers or directly from the company. For more information visit www.TheBrakeMan.com.
